  • Central Stations: Signals monitored centrally by certified operators.
  • Remote Supervising Stations: Skilled operators stationed remotely act upon alarms received (NFPA 72 Chapter 26, Section 26.5.3) .
  • Alternate/Redundant Locations (NFPA 72 Section 26.2.10.1):
    Alarm signals may temporarily be routed to alternate locations capable of receiving and acting on signals if disruptions inhibit normal operations .
